The extraordinary international art journal (www.ztscrpt.net), founded in 2002 in close context of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, has changed fonts and used the name of the font as its title with each of its 38 issues published to date. On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the editorial team of artists Christian Egger, Christian Kosmas Mayer, Yves Mettler, Magda Stützer-Tóthová, and Alexander Wolff, who live in Vienna and Berlin, now celebrates this special anniversary with the exhibition 'Hallo, LiebeRuth, Fragen - Déjà Vu? Abonnement inconnu!' at Neuer Kunstverein Wien.

In order to translate this long-standing practice of artistic publishing into a concrete exhibition format, the artists have considered past issues of the magazine, their curatorial projects and performative performances as a repository from which elements and details are extracted and placed in current contexts. Through this approach, they illustrate not only the highlights and developments of their collaborations, but also the medium-related disruptions and changes that have taken place over time. The exhibition thus offers revealing insights into the project and its driving forces, which are characterised by a belief in the diversity, coexistence and effectiveness of artistic means in describing, documenting and improving our world and its inhabitants. The exhibition space becomes a walk-in layout, a large editorial backdrop and a temporary laboratory for this project, which is based above all on friendship and curiosity.

In addition to the presentation of all previous issues, a new issue entitled 'LiebeRuth' will also be produced during this exhibition and presented at the NKW in September 2023. The release of the new issue is a programme item in the supporting programme of the exhibition, which will also include performances, concerts and screenings.
