The English term ‘straightforwardness’ is usually understood as a direct way of approaching the world. It is this pragmatic perspective — steering towards the heart of things without much ado — which comes to the fore in different ways in the works on display.

Antti Laitinen, who represented Finland at the Venice Biennale in 2013, shows conceptual photography, Tatu Engeström, and Sakari Tervo show a collaborative video installation that has been originally conceived for the Sibelius Museum in Turku. Jaakko Pallasvuo and Hong Kong-based artist Erkka Nissinen each contribute a video piece.
